Just a millennial who likes good food and likes to share it.
Pre-pandemic, I was a terrible cook but a lover of good food and themed dinner parties. Luckily for my guests, an inability to leave the house meant that I also discovered a love for cooking. In an uncertain and frankly boring time, it became my creative outlet and I strove to make restaurant level meals, yet with an inability to bring myself to add as much sugar and other things that I'm sure are what makes some of those taste so good.
Fast forward, I'm now lucky enough to work for myself fully remotely, so I'm able to exercise that creative outlet around my day job. In reality, that means I'm taking fifteen minutes mid-morning to knead some dough or put a slow cooked dish in the oven, allowing myself to take a break and ensuring something tasty on the table every night.
I'm not a professional chef and while I'm pleased when the food looks pretty on a plate, the taste, cooking from scratch and trying new things to surprise and delight is what matters to me.
