Hobbit Feast
A selection of meats, cheese, pies and bread to munch on
When hosting a summer gathering, hosting friends with picky eater kids, or when you just don’t want to serve a sit down meal, this is an impressive and great alternative.
I call it the Hobbit Feast because true to hobbit form, it’s full of all the tasty treats you might dig out of a larder for a luncheon with a pack of hungry dwarves.
The day before I’ll bake a ham covered in a maple syrup and Dijon mustard glaze to have ready to combine with a selection of cheeses, a crusty bread, meat pies, spinach and cheese puffs, a green salad and other nibbles that strike my fancy like olives or baby gherkins. Arrayed nicely over a large chopping board, this is perfect for people to help themselves to whatever they fancy throughout the afternoon.
